Sushi Sen in Lake Saint Louis

In lake st louis a area with not many japanese people at all this is good sushi. Even better than some places in hawaii that shocked me. If you see this on google maps pop up and sushi ai it is a no brainer which one to pick.

Went out for my bonus-son's birthday. Tried to go to Sushi Ai but it did not have dining-on options available. So we found Sushi Sen. First, the service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and answered all of our questions. The rolls were good, tempura delicious and crispy, potstickers crispy yet chewy, altogether a decent place.

First visit...excellent food! My son & I had the Lake STL and Vegas roll. Started off with Patrick as our waiter but he ignored us the entire time. Karla was extremely attentive and took care of all our needs! We'll definitely be back in the future!

The only place in STL area with the quality you'd get in Japan or the US coast. Miso soup absolutely perfect and made from scratch. Even the salads are not from bags. He gets the fish fresh every morning, and the sashimi slices are quite tender, plentiful, and never with a fishy old taste. He is a master. Well worth the drive to taste one of 2 real Japanese trained sushi chefs in the STL area. The only problem is that everywhere else is a disappointment, now!

The hours are a bit strange, but this is a great place for sushi, one of the few in the area actually. The staff are really friendly and the place is very clean and chic also. Have a Sapporo and order the Lake St. Louis roll!

The guys here are professional and provide a service that is difficult to contend with. Super clean well set-up shop.

The sushi was great! Went around 1130 and was not crowded at all. When we got there, the waiter wasn't around and we were on our own for finding seats. And she took a minute to get to us but after we got rolling and going service was great.

Good atmosphere and presentation. But I have a bone to pick with the sushi. The sushi rolls are covered in too much sauce that you can barely taste the roll. They use a lot of fake crab meat as filler in too many rolls. The quality of the nigiri is consistently the worst I’ve had and worst out of the other sushi joints nearby. (Perhaps the rolls are covered in so much sauce to hide the low quality fish?) If you want good nigiri go to hibachi boy (surprising, I know) or asabi. Their nigiri is always good.

Excellent quality sushi. We got basic rolls and nigiri. None of the specialty rolls because neither of us are into avocado or cream cheese in a sushi roll. However, the rolls and nigiri we got were excellent! It took a little while, but the wait for the sushi to go wasn't unreasonable. And, there is a great little veteran's park across the street where we were able to enjoy our meal with our dog. So glad we stopped in!

Soup was bland as was the meal. Sushi we tried was adequate but surely nothing to be impressed by. Prices are high for mid quality food and service. Waiter was nice but rarely saw him despite being one of 2 customers there. Overall disappointing experience, definitely won't go back.

Server was upbeat and friendly. Sushi was reasonably priced and yummy. Had the fried squid for appetizer and it was delicious!!!

Absolutely fantastic sushi! Met a business partner there and he was aware of the quality. My first time, blown away with service and quality to price ratio. Please do yourself a favor and try it as it will replace your current go to :)

By far the best sushi in the area. All the rolls are superb. But our favorites are the Crazy Roll, Spicy Tuna, Caterpillar, Philly, and the Sunset Roll.

Nice sushi bar, pleasantly surprised. It was bigger inside than I anticipated. Service was good as well as the sushi.

Food is good, the staff are pleasant, and there is plenty of parking. The prices just a bit to high for me,but otherwise reasonable for the items they offer ,also the presentation of the food is appealing

Great sushi rolls and very good service! This was the restaurant that originally hooked me on sushi. Great place to stop if you have to drop by The Meadows or are just in the area.

From the service to the food, this place is awesome!! Their soft shell crab is delicious along with the fatty tuna!! And unlike most other sushi restaurants they offer 2 different brands of soy sauce! I'd recommend it to anyone and we will be going back!!

This is my favorite STL sushi location. They offer sushi and several hot Japanese dishes. While Prices are comparable to other local competitors, the serving size is larger. They offer a nice selection of Asian and domestic drinks. The weekday lunch special provides an delicious and filling sushi experience on the cheap. They will also upgrade the special's salad to a seaweed salad for an nominal fee, which is great for the non-lettuce lovers.The one recommendation I will make is the agedashishi dofu, which is awesome

It was very good! Skilled chef. Great quality fish. The eel was particularly of the highest quality. I can say some of the best sushi I have had. I orddered the Philadelphia, Jurassic park and Eel. The only thing I would suggest is some interaction from the chef. It was overall a great experience.

The food is great...if you can get it. I arrived 2 weeks in a row at 2:10 to find the door locked. Both the door and website state lunch is from 11-2:30. On the third such occasion I messaged them on FB. They promptly responded with "The kitchen is closed 30 minutes before closing time. If u would like to come in on lunch by 2:15, please call by 2 and order so the kitchen can make and u can come in by 2:15..." So you cannot purchase anything from 2-2:30 so they close at 2 but refuse to say so. I arrive today at 1:55 thinking that since they don't "close" until 2:30 I will have ample time to eat my 15 min lunch. The door was locked.

Very delicious. Had a lunch meeting here and loved the sushi! It was very clean too. At lunch during the week there was no wait. The lunch special was a lot of food! We will eat here again.

I’ve never had sushi before but I absolutely loved my experience before and highly recommend the California roll.Edit: Visited for a second time and the service and the food were still awesome. You should definitely stop by!
